PROBLEM
Nobody is immune to Trauma.
Trauma is complex and its impact on individuals varies from person to person negatively affecting quality of life. In a post pandemic world that is facing many challenges ranging from climate change to women and child abuse, the effects of, and exposure to trauma are amplified.
“Many South Africans have fallen victim to crime, violence, illness or other traumas and many are exposed to frequent traumas. Sadly most trauma victims do not receive the support and help they need.”

With a population of 62 million, 73.8% of South Africans are exposed to Trauma.

“According to a World Health Organization study in 24 countries, 70% of people reported experiencing traumas, with an average of 3.2 traumatic events in their lifetimes. And that was before COVID-19 pandemic – a widespread trauma that increased the risk for post-traumatic stress (PTS) among US workers by 83% over pre-pandemic levels.“

In response to this the Scribble Meditation™ Project partners with corporates, social organizations and impact investors who purchase Scribble Meditation™ Classes or sponsor Scribble Meditation™ Facilitator Training, Licensing and Kits to community workers who are passionate about being positive change agents through sharing Scribble Meditation™ with those who lack access to tools and resources that aid trauma recovery and enhances health and wellbeing.

PURPOSE
Our purpose is to assist South Africans in addressing trauma by using the art intervention of Scribble Meditation™ as a tool for self-care and self expression, promoting healing, connection and peace.
PLAN


Our current ambition is to train and license 300 facilitators in Scribble Meditation™ through our online platform. They will use the skills learnt to support 12 000 individuals.
